1929, June 3 George Harding Cuthbertson born in Brantford ON.

1930, March 15 Erich Bruckmann born in Dusseldorf Germany

1942 GHC moves to Toronto 

1944 Belleville Marine Yard is formed.

1950 GHC graduates University of Toronto School of Practical Science with a Engineering degree. ( Mechanical )

1951 Canadian Northern Ltd. GHC and Peter Davidson primarily as yacht brokerage

1953 - 1956 80 Water Rats are built by GHC and Peter Davidson, the first production fiberglass sailboats in Canada 

1955 ( Possibly 1945, some debate ) Metro Marine founded by Harry Greb in Bronte Harbour

1956 Erich Bruckmann begins work at Metro Marine

1959 Front Street in Port Credit design office opens

1959 Peter Davidson leaves partnership to pursue career in sail making.

1959 George Cassian joins GHC for a year

1961 Cassian returns and initially buys 25% and later raises his stake to 33% and form Cuthbertson and Cassian Ltd.

1963 Hinterhoeler Boats is incorporated

1966 Bruckmann Manufacturing is formed by Erich Bruckmann with plant on Speers Road in Oakville

1966 Rob Ball joins C&C part time

1968/9 Rob Ball joins C&C full time

1969 September 26, C&C Yachts Ltd. with the merger of C&C Design Group, Hinterhoeller Boats, Bruckmann Manufacturing, Belleville Marine Yard. Becomes a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange. $1 million raised to provide capital on October 15

1969 GHC becomes Chief Designer 

1969 $3+ million in sales

1969 Ian Morch, Belleville Marine Yard becomes first president of C&C Yachts Ltd.

1971 Belleville Marine Yard plant is shut down 

1970 George Hinterhoeller becomes president of C&C Yachts

197? C&C Yachts sets up Head Office in Oakville off Trafalger Road

1971 Belleville Marine Yards Limited charter is renamed C&C Sales Ontario Ltd.

1971 Ian Morch leaves C&C Yachts and buys back the Belleville Marine Yard plant

1973 GHC becomes President and Chairman of the Board

1973 Rob Ball becomes Chief Designer

1975 Middleton, Rhode Island plant opens

1975/6 George Hinterhoeller leaves C&C to re-establish Hinterhoeller Yachts

1977 Hinterhoeller Yachts begins producing Nonsuch line designed by Mark Ellis who had left C&C Design department in 1973

1977 Kiel Germany plant opens

1978 GHC becomes President, C.E.O. and Chairman of C&C Yachts

1978 Motion Designs Limited is formed from the charter of C&C Sales Ontario Ltd. to provide design and management services of GHC to C&C Yachts

1979 Kiel Germany plant closes

1979 George Cassian passes away

1980 C&C Yachts buys Harbour Marine Services in Port Credit from Doug Gilles, Wayne Turner and Ted Clements

1980 C&C builds new Head Office in Port Credit but head office never moves in

1981 $40 million in Sales. 

1981 C&C Yachts is bought privately by Jim Plaxton and Stanley Deluce who also own Air Ontario

1981 GHC leaves C&C Yachts.

1982 Jim Plaxton become president of C&C Yachts

1984 David Gee, President of C&C Yachts 

1984 Erich Bruchmann reitres from C&C Yachts

1985 November, Rhode Island plant closes

1986 Doug Gilles buy Harbour Marine Services back from C&C

1986 Bill Deluce becomes President of C&C Yachts

1986 April, C&C Yachts bankrupt

1986 June, C&C Yachts bought by Brian Rose, North South Yacht Charters and Mutual Trust 

1986 Mark Bruckmann, Erich’s son reopens Bruckmann Manufacturing in old Metro Marine shop at Bronte Harbour

1989 Brian Rose is forced out by Mutual Trust and installs Robert Stubing as President

1989 Rob Ball leaves C&C


1990 Hinterhoeller Yachts bought by Stan Stewart of Strategic Associates

1990 Banks force Rob Stubing to shutter C&C

1992 C&C Yachts bought by Anthony Koo and Frank Chow of Wa Kwang Shipping as C&C Yachts International

1994 April, Niagara on the Lake plant destroyed in fire

1995 Hinterhoeller Yachts closes.

1996 C&C Yachts bought by Fairport Yachts which owns Tartan Yachts. Manufacturing is moved to Fairport, Ohio

Fairport Yachts becomes Novis Marine Ltd.

1999 George Hinterhoeller passes

2000 Bruckmann Manufacturing moves out of Metro Marine yard to Royal Windsor Drive in Oakville 

2008 Novis Marine Ltd. makers of Tartan and C&C, sold assets to Grand River Investment

2008 J. Hunter Branbury is appointed president and CEO

2010 July Tartan Yachts and C&C bought by Steve Malbasa

2011 October, Eric Bruckmann dies

2013 Steve Malbasa licenses C&C Yachts to US Watercraft

2016 Tartan Yachts bought by Tim Jacket and Rob Fuller 

2017 US Watercraft enters receivership 

2017 George H. Cuthbertson passes away

2018 C&C Yachts licensed to Waterline Systems by Steve Malbasa

2022 Robert Ball dies
