Tim Jackett has long been synonymous with the Tartan brand and now he continues to expand the family in his new role for Legacy by Tartan. As Chief Designer for Tartan Yachts and C&C Yachts, Tim launched over 2,600 sailing yachts built to his designs, ranging in size from the diminutive 8’ “Tartan Tender” to the award-winning 5300. Jackett designs have garnered numerous Boat of the Year honors from Cruising World and Sailing World magazines, as well as recognized by the yachting press worldwide for innovative and sensible performance sailing yacht design. Tim’s performance boats have won prestigious racing events in North America, Europe and Australia, competing under all of the major handicapping rating rules. 

His boats are wholesome, boats without extremes, allowing them to perform well under a wide range of sailing conditions and competition. In addition to handicap racing, the C&C 99 and C&C 115 have enjoyed One Design completion at many North American racing venues, such as Key West Race week and Sailing World NOOD events. Racing, performance cruising, or just plain great sailing, Jackett designs can be found in harbors throughout the world. Tim has gained proficiency in the entire process, from developing initial concepts through delivering a final product to the customer. He brings all of his skills and passions to the Legacy line, ensuring well designed yachts of unsurpassed quality accompanied by expert customer care.
